Different Types of Procedures Available
Every different patient’s needs are different. Boulder Plastic Surgery has several options that we consider for mastopexies.
- A crescent lift is for women who only need a slight lift of their breasts. A small portion of the breast tissue above the areola is removed, moving the nipple to a higher position.
- A Benelli breast lift is a good choice for women with sagging breasts and loose fitting skin. Starting with an incision around the areola, a larger incision around that is then made, creating a doughnut shape, which is then removed, giving women a stronger lift than with the crescent lift.
- A lollipop incision is a more powerful lift than the previously mentioned procedures, but leaves more scarring. It starts around the areola then travels straight down to the breast fold.
- The strongest breast lift procedure is the inverted t-bone breast lift. It follows the same general procedure as the lollipop incision, but adds a lateral incision under the breast, in the breast fold. Though this adds more scarring, the scar typically fades over time and is hidden by the breast fold.
