Dermal Filler Treatments Have the Highest Patient Satisfaction Ratings

According to the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), dermal filler treatments such as Juve’derm, Radiesse, Prevelle Silk, and Elevess have some of the highest consumer satisfaction rates among dermatologic procedures. The ASDS collected data from over 6,300 patients for their Consumer Survey on Cosmetic Dermatologic Procedures about their opinions on common treatments such as laser hair removal and body sculpting. Out of the 10 different categories, fillers ranked number one with a 92 percent overall satisfaction rate.

The Results

Of those who participated in the survey and reported satisfaction with dermal fillers, 45 percent said that they were “extremely satisfied” with the treatment. Over half of respondents, or 53 percent of those surveyed, said that they are considering soft-tissue fillers sometime in the future.

Juve’derm, Elevess, Prevelle Silk, Radiesse, and other dermal fillers help to restore youthfulness to the face as well as soften facial creases and boost shallow contours. Often called “liquid facelifts,” these fillers provide similar results as surgical facelifts without the longer recovery time.

About the Procedure

The procedure lasts around 30 minutes and it is performed in office with topical anesthesia/dental blocks. Side effects are generally mild and include temporary stinging, faint redness, fullness, and bruising. Recovery is quite quick using a cold pack for one to two hours after the procedure. Dermal fillers tend to last about 6 to 18 months.
