MicroLaser Peel

How Does the Procedure Work?

The goal of the procedure is the removal of the dull, damaged outer layers of your skin, which are replaced by newer, healthier and more vibrant cells. This effect is due to laser energy, which stimulates the production of new collagen, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This skin care treatment gives your skin a softer, suppler, and tighter feel.

The skin care procedure is tailored to the patients’ desires, skin type, and condition. The laser can be set to a light 10 micron, superficial laser peel or all the way up to a 60 micron deep epidermal resurfacing skin treatment. While deeper treatments yield more significant improvements, results will vary according to your skin type and condition upon starting skin care treatment.

It is also important to know that no single laser therapy will treat all skin types and conditions, but we can customize your skin care treatments by combining different laser therapies to target specific skin conditions. For instance, the microlaser peel can be combined with a profractional laser and/or an IPL photo rejuvenation laser to yield better and more comprehensive results.

What Areas Can be Treated?

A microlaser peel is commonly used to treat face and neck, mild wrinkles, brown spots caused by sun damage, keratosis, and other skin pigment abnormalities.

Who is the Treatment Right For?

If you feel as if your skin is lacking a youthful, radiant glow, has fine lines, blemishes, or a combination of all three, a microlaser peel may be the right treatment for you. Microlaser peel has also proved popular among people who aren’t getting the results they want from slower, less aggressive microdermabrasion therapies.

What Happens During the Procedure?

What is the Recovery Process Like?

The average healing process for each patient is 2 to 4 days; however, deeper laser treatments can lengthen that process by another 2 to 4 days. Side effects largely include red, sensitive skin, similar to bad sunburn. After 3 days or so, your symptoms will begin to subside and can easily be concealed by make-up.

It is strongly recommended that a program of home skin care be undertaken to further any gains made with the laser treatment. A pre-conditioning skin care program with topical products is mandatory prior to undergoing a deeper microlaser peel.
