Your Plastic Surgery Questions Answered

If you’re thinking about having a cosmetic procedure done, you’ve also probably got a lot of questions that you want answered before you undergo treatment. When you come into Boulder Plastic Surgery for any kind of cosmetic procedure, you’ll first have a consultation with one of our board certified physicians who will tailor a specific surgical plan for you and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Here are some of the most common questions patients have about the most popular cosmetic procedures:

  1. Can breast implants burst if they’re squeezed too hard?

Unless you’re getting squeezed in a vice, your implants cannot burst from rough handling or falling down on top of them.

  1. Can Botox make my face look uneven?

Botox paralyzes targeted muscles in which it is injected, so if it is not injected evenly or properly on each side of the face, it can appear lopsided. That is why it is so important to have Botox injections performed by a certified physician.

  1. Will my facial expressions freeze from getting Botox?

Botox injections relax the muscles, not contract them, so no. However, if you get Botox too frequently, it may become more difficult to contract or make certain facial expressions, but you will not lose facial feeling.

  1. Can I treat wrinkles without facial fillers or a face lift?

Definitely! Boulder Plastic Surgery offers a wide range of laser skin treatments, chemical peels, and microdermabrasion that all are very effective in treating the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  1. Can facial fillers like Juvederm move to different parts of my face?

Injectable fillers are actual gels that are injected under the skin and can move if constantly pushed on or injected in the wrong area, but this is unlikely when performed by a certified plastic surgeon.

  1. Will I have loose skin after getting liposuction?

How your skin will look after liposuction depends on your genes and initial weight, but most skin will bounce back. Liposuction is not the recommended treatment for people who want to lose a significant amount of weight without diet and exercise, but to target specific areas that do not respond to regular weight loss methods.
