About Us

The Office
Dr. Kuisle and Dr. Hartley are highly skilled in performing today's
cutting edge technologically advanced procedures. They offer these
in a very
caring, sensitive,
informative and supportive environment. Dr. Kuisle's and Dr. Hartley's
philosophy is that a competent plastic surgeon must evaluate and
treat the entire
patient from the foundation of form and function, to a realistic
self-image and ego. All patients are encouraged to commit to a total
self improvement regime that includes skin health, nutrition and
overall wellness, to compliment and enhance the results of cosmetic
surgical facial rejuvenation, body contouring or any enhancement
that individuals undertake. Members of Dr. Kuisle's and Dr. Hartley's
staff are friendly, well trained, and caring. They support each patient
through
every
step of the surgical procedure, adding a personal touch to Dr. Kuisle's
and Dr. Hartley's practice.
Our Mission
To
provide our patients with uncompromising quality of plastic surgical
care in a personal, professional and caring environment to ensure
optimum outcomes.
About Dr. Kuisle

Kuisle has been practicing cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery
in Boulder, Colorado since 1984. He received his B.A. degree in 1969 from
the University of Iowa, and he earned his M.D. in 1973 from Northwestern
University Medical School. From Chicago, he went to Dallas, Texas where
he completed a five-year internship and residency in general surgery,
followed by a two-year residency in cosmetic and reconstructive plastic
surgery.
He

the American College of Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic
Surgery, the Colorado State Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Colorado
State and Boulder County Medical Societies.
Dr.
Kuisle is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of
Plastic Surgery and enhances his knowledge of plastic surgery by participating
in many extra hours of continuing medical education each year. His plastic
surgical expertise is continually complemented by interacting with, and
learning from some of the best minds in the plastic surgery community,
both nationally and internationally.
Today, Dr. Kuisle concentrates his expertise and skill in the field of
cosmetic plastic surgery, skin cancer, and reconstruction of complex deformities,
such as breast cancer reconstruction and defects requiring repair using
muscle or skin flap procedures. He uses the newest facial rejuvenation techniques, including short scar and modified face lift, endoscopic techniques, contour thread lifting and erbium laser resurfacing. Various non-invasive laser and intense pulsed light technologies compliment the surgical procedures for skin rejuvenation.
In
over 30 years of surgical experience, Dr. Kuisle has developed a philosophy
that strongly emphasizes the individual needs of each patient. He believes
that total patient care is important to achieve the best outcome from
any surgical procedure.
Dr. Kuisles non-compromising attitude encourages his patients to
accept only a superior level of medical care while enjoying a high degree
of comfort with the style, personality, and expertise of the surgeon.
Patients are always encouraged to choose a surgeon with whom they are
most comfortable, and whose training, credentials, commitment, and judgment
justify that choice.
About Dr. Hartley
Dr. Winfield Hartley is a native of Atlanta Georgia. His earliest introduction to plastic surgery was through his uncle, Dr. John Hartley, former president of the Southeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. When he was fifteen years old, he spent a summer in the operating room observing his Uncle's procedures. He has been dedicated to the specialty ever since. Dr. Hartley
attended the University of Virginia for his undergraduate degree
in psychology, and obtained his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta. He completed his general surgery training (1997-2000) and plastic surgery training (2000-2002) at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, one of the premier programs in the United States. Dr. Hartley went on to pursue additional fellowship training in Aesthetic Surgery in Melbourne Australia (2002) under Dr. Bryan Mendelson.
Dr. Mendelson is highly regarded worldwide, as a leader and pioneer in facial rejuvenation surgery. Dr. Hartley completed a second fellowship in Aesthetic and Reconstructive Breast Surgery (2003) in Nashville, TN, under Dr. Patrick Maxwell. During his time there, he co-authored the Breast Augmentation chapter for the definitive plastic surgery textbook. His interests are in both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. He has a special focus on body contouring, liposuction, abdominoplasty and breast surgery (breast augmentation, reduction, and reconstruction). He employs several new face-lifting techniques designed to minimize scarring and shorten recovery.
Dr. Hartley is Board Certified in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He stays on the forefront of his specialty by attending conferences, seminars, and national meetings throughout each year. He has published articles in several major journals, and presented research at national meetings. "My wife Joy and I moved to Colorado
in order to be part of a culture whose focus is on healthy outdoor
living. I believe that people want to look as young as they feel.
My philosophy centers on providing my patients with a more attractive
and healthy appearance by enhancing their own natural attributes.
In this way, patients feel better about themselves and they way they
look. I find this true for both aesthetic and reconstructive patients.
Dr. Hartley enhances his local experience in Boulder by spending one week each year on a medical mission trip to an underdeveloped country. There he has the opportunity to restore both form and function to children born with such congenital anomalies as cleft lips and palates.
Philosophy of Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery:
Analyze Scientifically. Communicate with Empathy. Craft Artistically.

Plastic surgery is a profession
and art of fine lines. . .
Fashioning fine lines in
reconstructive design procedures.
Eliminating fine lines of
facial flaws and the aging process.
Protecting fine lines of marketing
the medical profession.
Managing the fine lines of
meeting patient's needs and desires.
We pride ourselves in our ability to manage the functions of each of these fine lines through choices associated with the profession and art of plastic surgery.
Whether you are considering an elective cosmetic procedure or reconstructive surgery, we practice and encourage a philosophy of choice for our patients. Choices include the physician, specific procedures, timing, location and much more. We believe strongly in your choice as a patient. It is your obligation to yourself to become informed and make wise choices.
Patients should carefully choose a surgeon whose training, credentials, expertise, commitment and judgment match his/her intuitive comfort level. Excellence in plastic surgery requires a well-trained, board-certified surgeon who can apply judgment, artistry, technique and anatomical evaluation to sound surgical principles. You should feel comfortable with the surgeon, the staff and office environment.
The comprehensive nature of our approach to cosmetic and reconstructive surgical procedures is evidenced throughout our practice. From initial consult to post-surgical follow-up, our goal is to help create a stronger self-image, resulting in better quality of life for each of our patients.
While perfection is always the ultimate goal – and our professional motivation – it is, by its nature, rarely obtainable. We do, however, work in unison with each patient to strive for their ultimate satisfaction. In doing so, we begin with a careful review of realistic expectations based on each individual's anatomy, selected procedures, circumstances, desires and patient post-surgical follow-through. Every pre-surgical consultation includes an in-depth discussion of individual desires, personality and expectations, as well as anatomy, tolerance, healing and tissue characteristics. The anticipated outcome and limitations of the procedure under consideration, as well as the surgical techniques, are carefully reviewed. No two people are alike.
Creating change in an individual's self-image is a huge responsibility for a surgeon – an obligation we take very seriously. With more than 20 years of experience in the profession of cosmetic surgery and over 30 combined years of general surgery and plastic surgery training and practice, a clear philosophy has evolved in order to climb closer to healing perfection. A mutually trusting, comfortable, respectful and communicative relationship must exist between physician and patient in order to execute the practice of cosmetic surgery and healing. Make the right choice for you.
