Profractional Laser

Profractional Erbium Laser skin treatment is a minimally ablative laser skin care procedure. The laser effectively targets specific portions of skin to diminish fine lines, wrinkles, scars and sun damage. This gives you younger looking, thicker and more vibrant skin. This skin care treatment is ideal for people who want fast results without the down time of full field ablative laser procedures. Profractional laser therapy is ideally combined with other lasers (IPL Photorejuvenation Laser and Micro Laser Peel) to enhance and provide more dramatic, improved results.

Profractional uses laser energy to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin which are surrounded by areas of untreated skin. The areas of untreated skin stimulate the healing process and the treated areas stimulate the production of new collagen, thus plumping the skin and smoothing out wrinkles, acne scars and improving sun damage.

Most patients will need four sessions of the Profractional Laser at six to twelve week intervals. A pre-conditioning skin care program with Retinol/Retin A and hydroquinone topical products is a mandatory adjunct.

The most common side effects are redness and swelling, which usually subside in one to two days. Deeper treatments yield more significant improvements but also have more downtime for healing. Results will vary according to skin type and condition upon starting treatment. A program of home skin care product usage must be undertaken to further any gain made with this treatment.
